Marta Ziółkowska, Ph.D. is an assistant professor at Warsaw School of Economics in Institute of Management. She has been working as an franchising researcher and lecturer for over 12 years. Marta Ziółkowska has published numerous books, papers in peer-reviewed journals, working papers, conference proceedings and participated in international research teams. She is a co-author of Franchising in Poland Report, 2010. She gained her international teaching and research experience during international internships, seminars, study tours, visiting professor stays and conferences in several countries (New Zealand, Iceland, Croatia, Portugal, France, Slovenia, Hungary, Norway, UAE). She is a member of MAG Scholar organization and each year participates in international conferences all over the world.
Her professional and research specialization includes: franchising business, Small and Medium Enterprises management, internationalization of the company, relational resources in the company development, social media in social capital creation, social issues in doing business and innovations in organizations.
She also works as a professional business expert and franchising consultant in Poland and advises companies, entrepreneurs, franchisors and franchisees. She deals with the important aspects of starting, developing, and managing both franchise networks and franchises within those networks. Specific attention is given to the franchisor-franchisee relationship and how both sides contribute to their mutual success.
As an expert Marta Ziółkowska is often invited to prepare franchise development strategies, conduct trainings in companies or speeches during business conferences and meetings. She also takes part in EU projects concerning social capital creation and SMEs management. Following courses for students like: management, management challenges, management in international business, franchising business and lectures in virtual world – “Second Life” are conducted by dr Ziółkowska. Privately she is a professional scuba diver (PADI Rescue Diver) and loves to travel.
