Dr. Amanda entered university at age 16. She graduated at 19 from the University of Adelaide with a first class Honors Degree in Psychology and the Australian Psychological Society Prize. At 20, she was a Junior Lecturer in Psychology at the Flinders University of South Australia. At 22, she moved to the University of Cambridge on a full scholarship where she took a Master’s Degree and Ph.D. in Behavioral Science. For her doctoral degree she spent nine months living in a tent in a field camp in Antarctica.
Dr. Amanda moved from Cambridge to Procter & Gamble’s European headquarters. She worked across Europe and the Middle East to train brand teams to use psychological research findings to build sales and improve consumer communications. In 2004, she took an assignment in Dubai to recruit and lead a team of consultants that worked with all major P&G brands and retailers in the Arabian Peninsula. In more than 10 years with Procter & Gamble, Amanda was consistently rated by trainees in Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Kuwait and Karachi as amongst the top few trainers and presenters in the region.
In Dubai, Dr. Amanda also successfully established and ran Sara Black International, a training and talent development agency.
Dr. Amanda is Dean of Hult International Business School, Dubai campus. Hult is a graduate business school offering MBA, Executive MBA and Masters Degrees in International Business. It is ranked 55th Best Business School in the World by The Economist, and ranked in the top ten for employer satisfaction according to the Bloomberg Business Week Rankings 2015.
Amanda is also a keen sports enthusiast. In April 2012, she took 2nd place in the race up the 52 floors (1334 stairs) of the Emirates Towers, and in 2014 and 2015 she completed half-ironman races in Luxembourg, Bahrain and Dubai (2km swim/90km cycle/21km run).
